A DAUGHTER OF HOLOCAUST SUVIVORS…
…and a former neo-nazi

Colleagues and friends of many years, Tamara Meyer and Arno Michaelis share a belief in the value of storytelling as a means of healing, and as an antidote to hate.
Antisemistim is undoubtedly the oldest hatred to shame humankind. As current events have tragically demonstrated, it comes from across the political spectrum, and from people of all backgrounds. Taking on this 4000 year-old problem from the perspectives of both victim and perpetrator, Tamara and Arno have crafted a 60-90 minute keynote talk, along with an optional 30-60 minute workshop.
This captivating, educational, and inspiring presentation is designed to help:
· Respond to antisemitic incidents.
· Raise awareness of the Holocaust and how antisemitism repeats itself.
· Create community cohesion and resilience.
· Understand how antisemitism takes hold in individuals and in society.
· Empower people to fight antisemitism effectively.
Tamara and Arno have decades of speaking experience between them, having presented at Fortune 500 businesses, schools, faith communities, NGOs, and government entities around the world.

What People Say
“Dismantling Anti-Semitism is the program we need right now. Working deep in the trenches of the battle for the soul of America, Arno Michaelis and Tamara Meyer offer rare insights into hatred and how to confront it. Arno and Tamara have visited Drew University and the Center on Religion, Culture and Conflict on many occasions, both as public lecturers and as faculty in our Institute for Emerging Leaders. Both are brilliant storytellers whose heartfelt accounts challenge listeners to probe the roots of hatred and prejudice and imagine constructive ways to respond. Both are highly engaging facilitators whose ability to elicit empathy, in all people for all people, is truly unique. Dismantling Anti-Semitism could not be more timely when it comes to a society so in need of healing.”
~Jonathan M. Golden, PhD, Director, Center on Religion, Culture, and Conflict, Drew University

Tamara Meyer, author, therapist, and educator, is a child of German Jewish Holocaust survivors. For more than 20 years Tamara has used her legacy to facilitate dialogue and the lessons of the Holocaust as a vehicle for change and healing. As a participant in dialogue groups in Berlin that include former Nazis, Holocaust survivors, and their descendants, Tamara has experienced first-hand both the extraordinary challenge and reward of engaging with those who at another time would have been her most dangerous enemies. As an Advisory Board member of Parents 4 Peace Tamara continues to work with former neo-Nazis to help others leave hate groups and promote conversations to help prevent radicalization.

Arno Michaelis is a speaker, filmmaker, author of My Life After Hate, and co-author of The Gift of Our Wounds. His storytelling stems from an intention to inspire people to see themselves in others, and see others in themselves. Arno draws from his lived experience as a former Neo-Nazi to work as an interventionist at Parents 4 Peace, helping to lead people away from all violent extremist ideologies, and to support their families. Refuge, his latest film project, is now available on major streaming platforms. Arno has been a professional public speaker since 2010, and has captivated audiences around the world. Uniquely positioned to facilitate healing for people who have been targets of hate, he has dedicated the past 15 years to bringing about a society where all people are valued and included.
What People Say
“…the manner in which they worked together and what they brought to the program made it an outstanding night. The program ran almost two hours, and the audience was rapt. I would recommend the two of them as they bring unique perspectives to our World and help give us hope in the way they present, and in the people they are.”
